Professional Barber World Series 2022 with Dapper Dan
Posted by Simon May onFollowing on from the success of the Professional Barber World Series’ inaugural year, it has been announced that the competition will return for a second year. Some slight changes have been made for this year’s competition, one of which being the categories. ‘Barber of The Year’ and ‘International Barber of The Year’ return, joined by the highly requested ‘Barbershop of The Year’ category.
The Sponsors from the 2021 competition (Dapper Dan, Barber Blades, Nearcut, and Sid Sottung Academy) all return with the addition of Matakki Scissors. Due in part to all the fantastic sponsors, the 2022 competition will sport a cornucopia of great prizes, including the front cover of Modern Barber, Credit with Dapper Dan, Barber Blades and Nearcut, as well as a 5 day Sid Sottung Academy course, not to mention multiple pairs of Matakki Scissors. This year’s Judging Panel of industry heavyweights includes Mike Taylor, Dean Gleeson (winner of ‘Barber of The Year 2021), Sid Sottung, Colin Petrie, and Simon May, meaning it will be harder than ever to impress the judges.
Entries to the competition will open on the 1st of August and close on the 7th of October, allowing for plenty of time to be creative, and produce something unique. After entries close, the first round of judging will commence cutting down hundreds of entries to just a handful of finalists. Those finalists will be revealed on the Professional Barber World Series Instagram before the second round of judging begins. The second round of judging, which revaluates the finalists’ entries in meticulous detail, will conclude on the 4th of November when the 3 winners will be crowned.
All the information you could need regarding Professional Barber World Series can be found on the competition’s Instagram page @probarber_worldseries and website.
